Privacy Policy
Sharpside collects as little as it can. You can use the whole site without an account. If you create one, we keep what is needed to sign you in, remember your favourites and send your alerts — nothing else, and we never sell it.

1Summary
- No account is needed to browse. Without one, we store nothing about you except routine server logs.
- With an account we store an email and password hash, or a wallet address, plus your favourites and alert settings.
- We set no cookies. Three small values live in your browser’s local storage.
- Visitor analytics, if enabled, is cookieless and collects no personal data.
- You can ask us to export or delete your data at any time: hello@sharpside.fun.
2What we store if you sign in
| Data | Why | Kept |
|---|---|---|
| Email address and a bcrypt hash of your password | Email sign-in. We never store the password itself. | Until you delete the account |
| Wallet address | Wallet sign-in. You prove ownership by signing a one-time message; the signature is checked and not kept. | Until you delete the account |
| Sign-in nonce | The one-time message a wallet signs. | Deleted on use; expires after 10 minutes |
| Favourite traders | Your list of starred wallet addresses. | Until you remove them or delete the account |
| Alert preferences and Telegram chat ID | Where and when to send your alerts: the chat ID you enter, whale-size and flag-score thresholds, favourites-only. | Until you clear them or delete the account |
| Private alerts | Alerts about your favourite traders’ trades, linked to your account so only you see them. | 30 days, then deleted automatically |
| Account timestamps | When the account was created and last changed. | Until you delete the account |
We don’t ask for your name, phone number or payment details, and we don’t connect your account to your trading on Polymarket beyond the wallet address you sign in with.
3Cookies and browser storage
Sharpside sets no cookies. It uses your browser’s local storage for three values, which stay on your device and which you can clear at any time in your browser settings:
| Key | Purpose |
|---|---|
| sharpside-theme | Light or dark theme, if you switched it. |
| sharpside-intro-dismissed | That you closed the first-visit intro on Pulse. |
| sharpside-token | Your sign-in token while you are signed in (valid for 7 days; removed when you sign out). |
Fonts are served from our own domain. Trader avatars, where a Polymarket user has set one, load from Polymarket’s image storage, so that host sees a normal image request from your browser.
4Server logs and abuse protection
Like any web service, our servers log requests: time, method and path, status code, response time and IP address. Sign-in tokens and passwords are redacted from logs. Our hosting provider may record similar request data. We use logs to keep the service running and to investigate errors and abuse, not to profile visitors.
To enforce API rate limits, your IP address is used as a short-lived counter key in our cache; the counter expires after the rate-limit window (minutes).
5Analytics
We may measure visits with a privacy-friendly analytics service — Plausible or Umami — to see which pages are used. It is switched off unless we configure it. When it is on:
- It sets no cookies and does not track you across sites or devices.
- It records page views with the page address, referrer, browser, operating system, device type and country. Your IP address is not stored; it is used only transiently by the provider to estimate country and count unique visitors without identifying you.
- It counts a few actions so we know which features are used: sign-up and sign-in (with the method, email or wallet), adding a favourite, saving alert settings, sharing a page, opening search, and following a link to a market on Polymarket. These events carry no email, wallet address, chat ID or other personal data.
6Public wallet data
Sharpside shows public Polymarket data: wallet addresses, public profile names and avatars, trades, positions and results, and scores we compute from them. This is already public on Polymarket and the blockchain. We do not try to link wallets to real people. If a Polymarket profile shown here is yours and you want something reviewed, write to hello@sharpside.fun.
7Who processes data for us
We use a small number of providers to run the service. They process data only to provide their service to us:
- RenderHosting for the website, API and background jobs, plus the cache, in Render’s Frankfurt (EU) region. Request logs.
- MongoDB AtlasThe database that holds accounts, favourites and alert settings, hosted in Frankfurt (AWS eu-central-1).
- TelegramOnly if you turn on Telegram alerts: we send alert messages to the chat ID you entered through Telegram’s Bot API.
- Plausible or UmamiOnly if analytics is enabled (section 5): cookieless, aggregate visit statistics.
We don’t sell or rent personal data, and we don’t share it with advertisers. We disclose it only if the law requires us to.
8Retention
Account data is kept while the account exists and deleted when you ask us to delete it. Private alerts are deleted automatically after 30 days and sign-in nonces after 10 minutes. Server logs are kept only for the limited period our hosting provider retains them; we don’t archive them separately. Backups made by our database provider roll over on their own schedule.
9Your rights: deletion, export, correction
You can ask us to delete your account and its data, to export it (we send you a copy as JSON), or to correct it. Email hello@sharpside.fun from the address on the account, or for a wallet account tell us the wallet address — we may ask you to sign a message to prove it is yours. We reply within 30 days.
Depending on where you live (for example in the EU or UK), you may also have the right to object to or restrict processing and to complain to your local data-protection authority. We rely on providing the service you asked for to process account data, and on our legitimate interest in running a secure service for logs.
10Children
Sharpside is about prediction markets and is not intended for anyone under 18. We don’t knowingly collect data from children; if you believe a child has created an account, tell us and we will delete it.
11Changes and contact
If what we collect changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. Questions or requests: hello@sharpside.fun. See also the Terms of Use.
